Dambisa Moyo is a Zambian economist with a Masters degree from Harvard and a PhD in economics from Oxford University. Her new book, Dead Aid, claims that the reason Africa's economy sucks is because of rampant western aid. We are kind of doing the opposite of the old saying. Instead of teaching Africa to fish, we are just giving them the fish and putting the African fisherman out of business. As a result, they never become self sufficient. Also the vast marjority of the financial aid that Bono raises goes to despots and dictators.

Basically, Dambisa Moyo is the African Ayn Rand. Dead Aid is being released in a week or so and can be ordered at Amazon. I will probably get it.
