I can even tell you what the illusion is and it will still mess with you. While it appears that there are spirals, the squares actually form 4 circles. Trace each one if you wish. Just like the inside of a digital camera, our brains are always at work interpreting what our eyes see and reconstructing an image in our heads. We really don't see as well as we think we do.
