OK. So it wasn't as bad as Eragon (the movie) was. But my god - you tried to cram 20x twenty minute episodes into 105 minutes. Let me give a brief rundown of MY complaints that I really haven't seen anywhere else:

- From the very first frame, you showed us awfulness. When Katara narrates "Water, Earth, Fire, Air..." you messed up such a simple opening by over-complicating the martial arts used to demonstrate the different bending styles. They literally looked like Steve Carell spastically imitating Bruce Lee in a high school play.
- Transitions were so abrupt, someone viewing it for the first time is left wondering why do Sokka and Katara give a shit about a bald, ice kid enough to pursue a Fire Nation warship? Did they really just fly from the south pole to the north pole in a couple of days? If so, does Commander Zhao ALSO have a flying buffalo as he is constantly going back and forth between the Fire Nation capital and anywhere the Aang is?
- WHY on earth did you fuck up the pronunciation of the names? This isn't like when Hermione get mispronounced by the British to sound like Her-my-knee instead of how it looks: Her-mee-own. You literally had 3 seasons of them saying their names OUT LOUD. I was happily surprised that Aang didn't actually say "Yup Yup" to make Apa fly.
- Aang not destroying the Fire Nation Navy.

There are lots of things you changed from the show to suit a movie that were fine: Making it so that only master fire benders can conjure fire from nothing. Cutting out the Kyoshi warriors. Having Aang convince the Earth Benders to revolt instead of Kitara (although the effort was as lame as Obi Wan killing Darth Maul). Poetic license to cut somethings out of an adaptation and change minor details is perfectly fine. But there is NO excuse for you trying to pull this off in such a short movie.

I am sure that there will be a directors cut that has deleted scenes in it but that will be what? 10 more minutes? With the amount of content you had to choose from, this really should have been a LOTRs effort. The movie should have been 3.5 hours with an extra hour in the extended version. This one was just pathetic and I fear that after this weekend, the box office take will drop so abruptly that there won't be sequels. But considering the effort you put into this one, I wouldn't be that disappointed.
